A New Haircut?

Well, I've been thinking about cutting my hair for sometime now, wanting something more in style and edgy. So I took the leap yesterday and here are my results. I have to admit I don't know how I feel about it. After it was done, I thought "Oh, it's real short but pretty much what I asked for". Then last night I thought "I really don't like it, what have I done!" I did wear it yesterday the way the cutter styled it, which was entirely rolled under. It made me feel old I think. So after playing with it for hours today trying to make something out of it that I can live with, and adding highlights, this is what I came up with. Keep in mind I am cursed with having very thin, and a very little amount of hair. The hair cut I wanted obviously requires more hair than what I have on my head to make it manageable. So what do you think? I want honest opinions on what you think and any recommendations on what I might do to make it look better! To achieve my look I blow dryed my hair upside down and used a flat iron on it.

Your hair cut is super cute--I love the back. I'm partial to short hair cuts but I'm sure you'll get used to it and like it after you're used to it. And the color is fabulous. Maybe you could try bangs swept to the side too.

I think that side swept bangs would help! Good idea!

ok. first off, I just want you to know that your hair cut looks really cute but I do know how you feel. When I cut my hair short in high school and tried to style it the next day, I ended up crying. But once I got used to it, I liked it.

I agree the side swept bangs would look good. Or you could try trimming your bangs a little shorter. Maybe then it would feel more proportioned compared to the shortness of your hair.

Also, because I usually have trouble with my hair not having enough volume I've used volumizing sprays and serums. My favorite is B&B thickening spray. Something like that could help your hair not feel so thin.

Sorry about the long message...

I think you're hair has so much great potential!! I totally agree that you just need to adjust your bangs so that they are more edgy too. And put a TON of hair product in it!

Some kind of volumizing moose before you dry it upside down. Use a flat iron on the back of your hair, you can even force it to flip a little if you want.

Definitely the side swept bangs. Try it before you get them cut. They may be a great length but they may need some texturizing.

I will send you an email of a couple pictures I found online.

You would be cute with anything! :) If you want volume I use velcro rollers. I blow dry my hair so it gets nice and hot. Then I add the rollers just where I want volume. I then spray them with the highest hold hairspray I can find and blow dry again to set. I do my make-up, remove the rollers, style, add more hairspray, and go. I also think the side swipe bangs are cute. Lani is wearing them that way right now and I love them. I am actually thinking of doing it too.

Hey girl - I'm excited to see you on Monday and we can play with your hair, try some things out. Side swept is fun, may feel more comfortable until you're more comfortable with the haircut overall. I wouldn't necessarily cut your fringe much shorter just yet though, that may end up feeling like everything is too short! Also, from the picture your top layer looks really piecey...I know you want that look but sometimes it works out just with the bottom layer, and the separation might be making it look like less hair? The top layer blended more into the bottom layer could look like more?

I love your hair, it is really fun, a few tips to add as you have gotten quite a few good ones, I think product is key here, and the correct ones as well, you will want to use a volumizing something, I love mixing the power dressing and blowdry amplifyer from pureolegy, a little goes a long way, finger through while wet and use a root lift. Blow dry upside down and finish with your flat iron, and then some kind of finishing cream, be careful though, with fine hair you want something light, but not to heavy or it will look greasy, I love the electric wax from Redken. Hope this doesn't sound too much like a hair dresser, but I can't help it :) Good luck oh ya I think the side bangs would be cute, but as Linds said you may just need them texturized not shorter. If you are back in SL, call me and I would love to play with it. It was so good to see you last month, the girls are so much fun! Hugs
